Auto Insurance for a Modified Car PDF Print E-mail
Many drivers on the road enjoy cars as a passionate hobby, displaying their love for classic cars, collector’s cars, or modified high performance cars through a vehicle they own. Owning and caring for one of these cars is a way to express yourself through automobiles and live your dream. Finding a way to insure your vehicle is very necessary, especially if you want to occasionally go for a drive or flaunt it at a show. The types of insurance offered for any of these vehicles is different than the insurance for a regular car due to either the increased value for the car’s exclusivity or the increased risks that car holds. Not all auto insurance companies are willing to cover these types of cars, so it’s best to do your auto insurance research before building or purchasing your dream car.

Auto Insurance Premiums: Monthly Installments Versus One-Time PDF Print E-mail
Whether you are a brand new auto insurance policy holder or a veteran policyholder, you might find yourself in a bind with the need to pay your premiums at the beginning of your policy period. It can be a larger amount than originally expected and present a problem with your budget. Paying monthly installments may be easier than choosing to pay the premium in one lump sum. On the other hand, paying your premium as one payment can take away the stress of paying monthly, knowing you’re covered and won’t be making any late payments or jeopardizing your policy in any way. In considering which option is best for you, here are some questions you may think of:

Practice Extreme Defensive Driving to Lower Your Car Insurance Expense PDF Print E-mail
By jdbrown

Many people believe that the best way to lower their car insurance premium is to spend hours surfing the 'net to get an inexpensive auto insurance policy online. We're not discounting this philosophy but, when you think about it, getting a cheap car insurance policy starts long before you fire up your computer. A key factor in lowering your car insurance premium has to be your driving record. Experts have long agreed that one way to keep your driving record clear of accidents (hence, free of car insurance claims) is to religiously practice defensive driving. Although we at CheapCarCoverage.com whole heartedly endorse this advice, we feel that there has long been a need to push the envelope of this defensive driving theory to its very limits. Presented here are four examples of Extreme Defensive Driving which, when added to your current safe driving practices, are certain to limit your exposure to automobile accidents.

  1. Call off sick from work as often as possible. Obviously, if you're not driving to the office at rush hour (or driving home) you are guaranteed not be involved in any traffic mishaps. An added benefit of this practice is the extra rest you will get sleeping in on a normal work day. The reduced stress alone will help you drive better on those days when you must actually go to work.

  2. Stop making Right turns. This may sound a little strange but it significantly reduces your exposure to a popular accident scenario. Depending on where you live and work this may not be an easy task which may cause you to waver in your consistent implementation of this practice. If you approach it with the right attitude – accept it as a challenge - you will soon find that the cost of the extra gasoline you burn by going miles out of your way to finally make that right turn into your driveway will be more than offset by the savings you realize on your car insurance policy.

  3. Limit pleasure driving and shopping trips to the hours between 3:00am and 6:00am. There are a surprising number of benefits to this practice. The obvious benefit is the diminished amount of traffic you will be forced to contend with. You'll also find that quite a few traffic signals will be set to flashing yellow which means you won't be stopping at very many lights and , as a result, you won't be as likely be involved in a rear-end collision. Some may consider the limited shopping and entertainment choices available at these early hours a “down side” of this practice. Extreme Defensive Drivers, on the other hand, will not only appreciate the lowered car insurance rates but will also appreciate the added savings they realize by shopping for everything at the nearest twenty four hour Super WalMart store.

  4. If your commute to work is a long one, consider not coming home at all on Monday and Wednesday nights. This practice prevents exposure to four rush hour drives with the added benefit of a significant savings on gasoline. You just need to find a quiet place to park your car and settle down in the back seat for a relaxing sleep. If you, like many Americans, are an SUV owner you'll have even more reason to love it when you see how comfortable that rear seat really is. Daily showering in simply not the necessity we have been lead to believe it is and it really doesn't take long to make a quick change of clothes before traffic gets too heavy.

When compared to the traditional defensive driving practices we think you will see that these extreme measures make a lot more sense. Not only can the strict adherence to these driving precepts help you obtain and maintain a cheap car insurance policy, they can also save the devoted practitioner significant money on gasoline and other consumer goods. Extreme Defensive Driving – not only does it make sense – it makes dollars and cents!

Buying Car Insurance in Olden Times PDF Print E-mail
By jdbrown

Buying the right car insurance to suit your need is a lot easier today than it was when I was a young man. Back then there was no internet so getting an instant car insurance quote online was something we couldn't even imagine. If someone had told us that one day we could sit down in front of our own computer and with a few clicks on the keyboard be able to compare quotes from multiple car insurance companies – we'd have laughed in their face. The closest we came to shopping for car insurance “online” was to use the telephone and even that wasn't so easy. Phones then were the old rotary style which made the now simple act of dialing unbearably tedious.

Who Should Buy the Family Car Insurance? PDF Print E-mail

In the modern world there have been many changes in how Society views the roles in a marriage. Early last century it was extremely uncommon to see a wife and mother working outside of the home. It was just as unlikely to see the husband doing the laundry or even picking the kids up from school. Yet today, these things are considered as normal as can be. Some think that the sexes have arrived, at last, as equal partners and there are simply no more boundaries to push. These folks (obviously) have not faced the terror of car insurance renewal time. I think that most people feel that it is still a man’s job to find a cheap online car insurance quote! If only it were that way at our house!

About now you are probably regretting that decision you made, sixteen or so years ago, to have children. It is hard to remember all those great reasons that lead you to the parenting experience as you sit and look at how your auto insurance premium has suddenly mushroomed. There is nothing in any of the popular parenting handbooks to help you handle this new reality. It is bad enough that you have to scramble to get a car on the weekend but now you may actually have to get a second job!
